    IN DAYBREAK:
Viola Tisawln is a member of the current generation of the Pavesi family, a largely-seclusive family of Mages based somewhere in rural Italy. Her parents are Vincente and Miriana, with Vincente being a man from a different family who married into the Pavesi family. She has one younger sister, Adriana. Her mother Miriana is a cousin of Marise Neroni, the mother of Desidera, who is one of Viola's classmates at Daybreak Academy. For some time, Viola was unaware that she and Desidera are related, as it wasn't until Desidera's boyfriend saw and recognized the Pavesi family's symbol tattooed on Viola's right arm that their relation became known to either of them; the academy uniform kept the mark hidden and Desidera had never seen Viola dressed casually, and Desidera no longer possessed the symbol at all as hers had been damaged by an injury and then removed before she and Viola met.

As a Mage, Viola has a strong preference for pyromancy but has dabbled in some other kinds of magic as well, particularly dark magic as she has taken courses relating to it and has been undergoing tutoring from Desidera, who is a natural at such magic due to having been born part-Daemon and has been aiming to become an assistant to the teacher for the courses in question. Viola also has an interest in learning to properly wield lightning—which is noted to be difficult to use—and while it's possible for her to wield most other elements with moderate success (with the exceptions of water and ice, both of which she struggles with), she otherwise prefers using what she knows.

Viola dislikes needlessly-complicated things and will often opt for the simplest or most-direct solutions to any problems that she faces. In a fight, that usually means explosions. She also has rather strong but mostly-unspoken dislike of the way many Mages (including several of her own relatives) do things, and she intends to distance herself from a majority of the family as well as from Mage 'politics' in general once she reaches her adult years. This distancing is a move that is almost certain to leave her marked as an enemy of the family itself as the current head of the family, Renato Pavesi (another of Miriana's cousins), is all but guaranteed to view the decision as a betrayal; once she has made her intentions clear, Viola fully expects there to be some form of retaliation from him and possibly others.

Viola's enrollment at Daybreak Academy is in part a way to prepare for being separated from from the family, but also in part to actually begin the process of separating herself from the family, and is in part because she wants to learn things that her family either can't or won't teach her. Most of the family's members are aware of Viola's enrollment and have begrudgingly accepted it (it is known that Daybreak has Daemons on its staff, and most of the family has a strong hatred for Daemonkind in general), but they are not yet aware of her personal reasons for it. Most of them are not aware that Desidera is also there, and Viola herself is well aware that it must remain that way for Desidera's safety.

    MISC. TIDBITS:
• Viola can be seen as a genderswapped AU counterpart to Jason Eirichu, the younger brother of Brooke Eirichu.
• Despite this, Viola has no connection to Rebecca Fulton, who can in some ways be seen as an AU counterpart to Brooke herself.
